Custom-Built Website
Crafting the Image: Reimagining Emulsion Pictures Online
Emulsion Pictures, a Brooklyn-based production company specializing in cinematography and lens rentals, needed a website that matched the precision and character of their work. Their previous Squarespace site limited how their imagery and lens information could be showcased, making it difficult to present their catalog in a way that felt cinematic and intentional. The goal was to transition into a fully custom build; something clean, fast, and designed to highlight high-resolution visuals, detailed lens specifications, and curated project stills. The process began with reorganizing their media library and rebuilding the content structure from the ground up, creating a foundation that gives them long-term flexibility and a stronger, more polished online presence.
Framing the Experience: Our Approach
We rebuilt the site using a custom front-end framework that prioritizes responsiveness, clarity, and visual depth. The layout was designed to support both creative work and technical details, ensuring the lens specifications remain readable and stable across all screen sizes. To enhance the experience, we incorporated subtle animations and scrolling effects inspired by camera movements and lens mechanics, adding visual interest without overwhelming the content. The result is an interface that feels dynamic and cinematic while remaining highly functional and easy for visitors to navigate.
The Delivery
The final site gives Emulsion Pictures a modern, streamlined platform that fully reflects the quality of their work. High-resolution imagery loads smoothly, technical information is consistently presented, and interactive elements like fades, transitions, and scroll-based effects strengthen the visual narrative. Every component, from spacing to motion, was refined and customized to echo the precision of their craft. The updated build removes the limitations of their previous platform and provides a flexible, scalable foundation that can continue to evolve as their catalog and client-facing needs grow.
