14th And Market, a culture-driven creative brand bridging culture and commerce, envisioned something beyond a traditional portfolio site: they wanted to build a digital universe. Their goal was to present their diverse range of projects and dynamic team as stars in an ever-shifting sky, creating an experience where visitors could explore and discover at their own pace within the 14AM universe. Every visit needed to feel unique, with the grid presentation changing each time the page loads. The site also needed to reflect the Philadelphia roots of the brand and the roots of individual team members through an automatic day-to-night transition that mirrors real Philly time for the main pages and the hometown time of each team member on their individual pages, adding another layer of authenticity to the digital experience.

We built a fully custom interactive grid system that treats each project and team member as a discoverable element in an infinite scrollable universe. Using advanced JavaScript animations, GSAP effects, and custom code, we created an experience where visitors can drag, scroll, and hover through content that rearranges itself with every page load, no two visits are ever the same.
The site automatically transitions between light and dark modes based on Philadelphia's actual time zone (7am-7pm for day mode), keeping the experience grounded in the city that inspires their work. Individual team member pages, however, display the clocks of that team member's hometown, and their page's day-to-night transition is based on their clock's timezone, keeping the page fully true to its team member. The team member pages also showcase personality-driven design with custom resume timelines and unique content for each person, while the password-protected subdomain structure gives the agency complete control over what's public versus exclusive.

The final product achieves exactly what 14th And Market set out to create: a vast, explorable digital universe that showcases their creative range and team personality. Visitors experience a different constellation of work every time they land on the site, with smooth animations and intuitive interactions that encourage exploration. The automatic day-to-night transitions keep the experience fresh and connected to Philadelphia, while the responsive design ensures the universe feels immersive whether you're on desktop or mobile.
